HTML5 is the latest edition of the Hypertext Markup Language. It supersedes the previous versions that are XTML 1.0, HTML 1.1 and HTML 4.01. HTML5 is the barebones building blocks of all the websites in the world. It is not a programing but a markup language used to structure and present content on the World Wide Web (WWW).
Now, it is possible to incorporate high-quality drawings, videos and audios, animations and much more only with the help of HTML5. As the developers build the functionality in the browser, there is little to no need of third party programs and plugs. In this course, you will see what HTML5 is all about and how to edit and write HTML5 markup yourself.
In the next chapter, we will set up the coding environment and discuss the HTML5 syntax.
